Environmental Education Series Course Materials

(Materials and resource links have been updated for 2024)

Environmental Education seriesFor a week each August, Lake Tahoe Community College hosts ISSI, the Intensive Spanish Summer Institute. Students of all language levels spend a week studying grammar and conversational Spanish. Additional "breakout sessions" allow students to learn about a wide variety of cultural aspects and history of Spanish speaking countries. In 2008, in the first science and ecology oriented sessions to be offered, Debra introduced ISSI to Baja's sea turtles and friendly whales. She followed up in 2009 with a week-long environmental education series that continues as part of the annual program. In 2019, Whale Sharks were added as a breakout.
